Special Development Symposium
Coming To Barstow

How to capitalize upon Route 66 for your community.

Posted: May 1, 2016

Symposium to present experts
from all along Route 66.

The California Historic Route 66 Association (CHR66A), in cooperation with the BLM.  This event corresponds with last year's completion of the Needles to Barstow Corridor Management Plan (CMP).

The symposium will be showcasing speakers, sharing ideas from other states, as to how they used Route 66 to stimulate their local economies.

With the completion of the comprehesive CMP, the Route 66 association is waiting for a federal grant cycle to submit the CMP for the acquisition of a National Scenic Byway, or an All-Americal Road designation, for the segment of the California's route.

The symposium is targeting attendees who have an economic interest in Route 66's development, and the enthusiasts of the Mother Road.  The symposium is being held at the Ramada Inn, Barstow, and limited seating is available upon a first come registration.  Registration deadline is May 11th.

Further information about the symposium can be reached here.
