The Peesa War
Oh! Please Renee, tell us that this isn't true!

Guest report shared by Tëd Stimpfel
It does get hot in the kitchen !
The following is a news report that I received on April 8th.
I initially struggled as to whether I should publicly share it, as I personally
like Renee, who operates The Barn.
After almost one full minute of serious personal turmoil and deep reflection
over the submitted guest news report, I struggled, "Hell, share it !"
(Especially, as the author did such a fantastic job flattering us.)
As Renee is a strong public figure in Newberry Springs affairs, and
known for her staging of public events at The Barn, and president of the
local Chamber of Commerce, and involved in public development, the submission
is of public interest.
Name of author withheld.
Hello! First, I want to say, I know you don't know us,
but we LOVE your Page. Your comics, your truths, the way you stick up for
those that are too scared to stick up for themselves, it's just amazing.
Bravo to you!
Second, we love how you call out Newberry's clowns that
seem to be drunk with authority and power, namely, Renee, the owner of
the Barn. We all know she only became "president" (of the Chamber)
to hype her own bar and NOT to do what's right for Newberry Springs.
That's obvious and anybody who thinks differently, well,
wouldn't be the brightest bulb in the box. So, on the topic of this
power-hungry tyrant, I'd like to share a story with you.
Not for publicity or attention or anything like that, but
when this came to light, our first thought was, Newberry Springs Community
Alliance would love to hear about this, so we decided to reach out. And
I could be wrong, this may not interest you at all, but we wanted to share
anyway in the hopes you'd enjoy this story.
As I'm sure you know, there is an American Legion in Yermo.
This Legion never recovered after COVID and was, in fact, closed for about
three years. Now there is a group of us who have been trying desperately
to breathe life back into this Legion because we feel like it's important for
the veterans, soldiers, and the town of Yermo.
What does this have to do with Newberry you might ask?
Nothing. Absolutely NOTHING.
This Legion signed up some AMAZING cooks to cook on nights
when there are events going on. Like Pool League and such.
These cooks are extremely talented and have brought wonderful
food and life into this Legion. They have begun gaining a following and
have several loyal customers.
Not long ago they decided to try their hands at pizza, seeing
how several people were requesting it. Well, pizza has begun to take off.
People love this pizza, and many, many MANY, have said it's the best pizza
they've ever had. Complaining, how bad The Barn's pizza has become.
In this crew of cooks are a couple of young girls, who at
one time, worked at The Barn. They were treated TERRIBLY by Renee
(a story for another day that is absolutely appalling) and opted to quit
a long time ago. Lately, they brought their talents to the Yermo
American Legion and have been turning out some of the best food ever.
Now it appears Renee has gotten wind of all of these facts.
So what does she do? She texts one of the bartenders at the Legion
and tries to BULLY her into sharing the ingredients that are being used
at that Legion.
When the bartender tries to be cordial and denies her this
information, Renee gets so angry and literally says, "That's not good enough,
I'll come down there!"
On what authority!? Then she starts singling out one of the young girls
that worked for her in the past, saying that she stole her recipes and signed
papers, which she did neither of those things, and went on and on.
First of all, we know for a fact, RENEE HAS NO RECIPES!!
She buys ALL of her ingredients, sometimes just from Walmart, and she used
to love and brag about buying ingredients from the 99-cent store when it was
open, and she makes NOTHING from scratch!! So what "recipes" is she
talking about?
She literally thought she could bully somebody into revealing trade secrets
for what? So she could steal them? It's so bizarre that she thought
she had the right or authority to barge into an American Legion located in
another community so she could search THEIR kitchen. She's insane!
And now, she literally has spies coming in asking questions,
trying to figure stuff out. I mean, you can't make this crap up!
It's the wildest thing ever! She has been given too much power in
Newberry and it's gone to her head, and now she thinks she has authority
everywhere.
She needs to back off of everything that has nothing to do
with her. Anyway, again, I was just sharing this with you because we
seem to have similar senses of humor, and when this went down, as infuriating
as it was, we couldn't stop laughing at her.

Editor's Note: The last two sentences have been omitted along with 8
attachments.
There are always two sides to any story, and among individuals, stories
will be naturally spun differently.
Furthermore, I have had pizza from The Barn only once.
I ordered a large takeout veggie pizza. The chef (without asking)
included a generous portion of strong jalapeños... which
I can't tolerate. Since then, when I think of The Barn's pizza,
psychologically, I can't get my reaction, to my first bite, out of my
head. The flavor to my taste buds remains unforgettable.
Despite some strong and colorful exchanges between Renee and me
on social media, I truly like Renee, and I am impressed by the fantastic
energy that she places into promoting The Barn. I appreciate the
sacrifices that she has made to keep the doors of her historic site
open.
From a business standpoint, I see problems in The Barn's current business
model that I believe will continue to strangle its future success.
As Renee is the el Presidente of the Newberry Springs Chamber of Commerce,
I also see, as highly inappropriate, her direction to have a newly purchased
Chamber sign, supporting Route 66, to be installed in front of her business.
This sign is being partially paid for by the County (Dawn Rowe's office) to
the tune of $15,000. Yes, Dawn Rowe is giving away tax money to support
a bar while the community's senior center deteriorates.
