With Friday, August 7, 2020, being the final day for candidates to signup with the county's Registrar of Voters to run for a seat on the Newberry Community Services District board, three individuals have registered.

    Carmyn Vanlom, the friendly lady who operates the Newberry Transfer Station, and Margie Anne Roberts, known for her generous volunteer work with the Newberry Springs Services Association (Senior Center), will be competing with incumbent Paula Deel for two available CSD board seats.

    Director Larry Clark has decided not to run for reelection which will leave the new five member board dominated by three women.
