Arrest Four Alledged Thieves
In Newberry Springs

Report from San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

Ironwood Youth Campground hit by theft.

September 30, 2013

On September 27, 2013, at approximately 11:30 A.M., Deputy Korkotsakis conducted a vehicle check in Newberry Springs on two pickup trucks stopped on the side of the road.  A records check of the vehicle license plates revealed one vehicle was stolen from Casey Auto Sales in the City of Barstow.

Korkotsakis contacted the occupants of both vehicles then conducted an investigation regarding the contents of each truck.  He was able to identify a residence in Newsberry Springs that had been burglarized but the theft had not been reported.  The trucks contained property from the residence and the residence owner was able to positively identify his property.

Korkotsakis continued his investigation.  He was able to recover another stolen vehicle and approximately $30,000.00 in stolen tools.  The tools were stolen from Ironwood Youth Campground one week earlier.  24-year-old Jarred Sessler, 21-year-old Jennifer Alvarez, 29-year-old Jessica Corley, and 28-year-old Strader Surratt are all suspects in the Ironwood burglary and other theft related crimes in the High Desert.  All property recovered was released to the owner.  The investigation is continuing into other theft crimes in the Barstow and Newberry Springs area as well as theft related crimes in the Victor Valley area.

Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Deputy Korkotsakis of the Barstow Sheriff's Station at (760) 256-4838 or contact the We-Tip hotline at 800-78-CRIME (800-782-7463).  We-TIP on-line tips can be submitted at http://wetip.com/.
