Dave Woods, a longtime pillar in Newberry Spring was found deceased
in his home on May 8 at approximately 1:30 P.M.
Longtime friend and neighbor, Bob Berkman, found Woods while doing
a welfare check after Woods was not responsive to phone calls.
Services for Woods are pending.
Dave Woods is interviewed by Rob McMillan of KABC TV in 2013 relating
to the Soltec Mountain View solar project. Woods' interviews with KABC and KCAL were key in
initially educating county officials to the negative community impacts of backyard industrial
scale solar projects intruding into residential neighborhoods. Woods lived across the
street from the Mountain View solar complex.
