Newberry Springs Community Alliance
Community Uprising Is Needed!
Newberry Springs is headed for a showdown with the Daggett Solar project.
If permitted, the solar project will drastically change the character and the livability
of residing in Newberry Springs.
Should the solar project be built, the desirability of residential land
in Newberry will drop as well as property values.
Pulmonary diseases, like COPD, will increase as Newberry's air will be laced
with much higher concentrations of silica dust, a California Proposition 65 listed carcinogen.
A county Board of Supervisors hearing on the Newberry CSD's appeal
of the solar project's Environmental Impact Report's certification will be held
Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at the County's main administrative center located in San
Bernardino at 10 A.M. Address: 385 N. Arrowhead Avenue • San
Bernardino, CA 92415
Newberry needs You!
A massive community turnout is needed to persuade the Supervisors to
reject the solar facility's certification.
The hearing will be live-streamed to the High Desert Governmental Center in
Hesperia if speakers wish to speak remotely. The address is: 15900 Smoke Tree St. •
Hesperia, CA 92345. While presenting remote communication is helpful, direct appearance
in the Boardroom is far more beneficial and highly suggested.
If you can attend the San Bernardino hearing, it is imperative that you
do so. Too much of our lives are at risk. While speakers are desired (up to
3-minutes are permitted), it is not necessary to speak to show your concern.
Ride Sharing
If you believe that you can attend, please
e-mail
us and let us know. If you can drive and also transport a Newberry neighbor or
two, please tell us.
If you need a ride, please let us know. We are trying
to coordinate our community's mobile resources for a maximum turnout. We need your help.
Bob Berkman of Newberry's CEQA Now is acting as coordinator.
Please assist by spreading the word of the hearing.
Godspeed Newberry Springs.
