The county's regular Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, November 5,
2013 included a Newberry Springs item buried in a long list of agenda matters.
Approved along with a similar request for Littleton's Mobile Home Park
Social Club (San Bernardino), and a license for a hotel/motel in Yermo, was the Newberry Springs
Chamber of Commerce's request for a license permitting the chamber to hold bingo
fundraising games.
On a 4-0 vote, with Supervisor Gary C. Ovitt absent, the three items
being presented by Laura H. Welch, Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, were approved.
The three items had favorable recommendations from the related county regulatory departments.
The Newberry Springs social club raises funds throughout the year and
support's the community's family events, such as the annual fireworks display and the Pistachio
Festival.
