SHERIFF DEPARTMENT REPORT

DATE/TIME:  July 28, 2019, at approximately 5:50 P.M.

INCIDENT:  Armed Robbery

LOCATION:  Minneola Road/Calico Boulevard, Yermo.

SUSPECTS:  Unkown

VICTIM:  Confidential

SUMMARY

On the evening of Sunday, July 28, 2019, at approximately 5:45 P.M., the victim pulled his vehicle onto the shoulder of the road which caused it to become stuck in the soft sand. He flagged-down a tan GMC SUV headed northbound on Minneola Road.

The GMC was occupied by three white male adults.  The men told the victim they normally rob stranded motorist, but would not do that to him.  The suspects proceeded to help the victim get his vehicle unstuck.

After some time had passed, one suspect retrieved a rifle from the GMC and robbed the victim at gunpoint.  They stole approximately $500 and a large bag of clothing.  The suspects then fled the scene in the GMC heading northbound on Minneola Road.

The victim called 9-1-1 for assistance and Deputies from the Barstow Sheriff's Station responded.  Deputies conducted an area check for the suspects with negative results.

The investigation is still ongoing.  Anyone with information regarding this incident or a similar incident is urged to contact Deputy A. Foy of the Barstow Sheriff's Station (760) 256-4838.  Callers wishing to remain anonymous are urged to call the We-Tip Hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME (27463) or you may leave the information on the We-Tip Hotline website at www.wetip.com.

N.S. Community Alliance note:  These three idiots in a tan GMC SUV were traveling north from Newberry Springs and are likely locals.  If you know or see such a vehicle, please report it to the Sheriff Department.  Armed assault and robbery is not a turnstile offense and these three need to cool off in the hoosegow for a long time.
